Although we know that all good wine is made in the vineyard we’ve also seen the positive difference that carefully selected well used equipment can make so picking the right kit for the winery has been very important to us.
For our first vintage, 2012, we invested in new stainless steel, temperature controlled, tanks for our whites and rosé. We also invested in a pneumatic Bucher Vaslin grape press – the Rolls-Royce of presses – which treats the grapes very gently without damaging the pips.
In 2013 our big project was to build a new winery to give us the temperature controlled environment needed to make and store truly great wines. We’ve also installed extra tanks so we can vinify each parcel of grapes individually. We christened the new winery in early October 2013 just in time for our second harvest. Its really efficient and a dream to work for Jack and me.
