Just a quick update on our all important 2014 grapes. As I said in my last post “it all dépends” on the weather. After some quite frankly dodgy weather from mid-July to late August the sun here in SW France has finally got its hat on. We’re having some stunning sunny dry days, perfect grape ripening conditions.
The sugar levels are rising and, based some sampling Jack and I did today, the sugars are about 2-3 weeks ahead of this time last year. We’re still looking at the harvest starting at the end of September but spirits are high and there’s everything to play for over the coming month.
Here’s wishing everyone an indian summer!!
